Television compatibility

This is a long shot. I bought a playstation 2 for my Novia´s son and of course it only plays in black and white because of the PAL format. Apprarently it will work if I can get my hands on a television with a SCART socket. This would then be PAL or NTSC compliant. Anyone got a clue where I might acquire one in Barranquilla, failing that anywhere else in Colombia?

And another thing if he wants new games the ones in Colombia wont work in that playstation.

This is what you need to get, but make sure it will work in their TV It is call a TV VIDEO SYSTEM CONVERTER (PAL TO NTSC CONVERTER)

The SCART equipped sets aren't available in Colombia as far as I know. Also Kat1 is correct it wouldn't make the thing work. Best bet is to get a US model and send it down, it will work because both are NTSC as well as the proper voltage and frequency..
