Teaching work in Cartagena

I am currently teaching english in an university in Cartagena.
I have a friend who is planning to come out in the middle of January for about 5 months. He wants to teach english during this time to support himself financially. Does anyone know of any teaching opportunities in Cartagena starting at the beginning of January? We have been told that it can be difficult if you do not already have a work visa which he doesnt. Also how much private work could he possible get here? Enough to earn a reasonable income? The institutes that I have been in contact with have not been very helpful.
