as i mentioned in previous posts, i am moving to bogota in mid june with my fiancee. my future father in law, who is a bogota native, has spoken with the consulate's office in washington dc and he was told that my fiancee and i need to get a student visa to live in colombia. I ultimately do want to take some business classes, and of course some spanish instruction classes, but I would like to teach english while i am living there before going to school. the question is, is it possible to get a work or resident visa while already in the country? should i get the student visa first or should i try to get a job teaching english before moving to colombia and get the work visa? thanks for all input.
