Teaching English in Cartagena?

Hi all

I´ll be arriving in Cartagena in less than a month and will be looking to carry on with the work I am currently doing, which is English teaching. I looked at the section about English teaching on this website and there was stuff about Bogota, Cali and Medellin (which will be my second choice if things don´t work out in Cartagena). I currently teach business English in Buenos Aires, in company, which I have done for the past 9 months. I would like to continue with a similar set up if possible... I don´t think I have enough experince to teach kids, besides I´m not bil-lingual. So my question is does anyone know of language institutes in I can contact in Cartagena?

Any information related to the post topic would be a great help in my fresh start...

Thanks a lot!

I'll be teaching science at an international school in Pereira. I wouldn't mind making some extra pesos teaching English. BTW, that's exactly what I've been doing this past school year (in Taiwan).

In Taiwan it is popular for families to hire a private tutor for their children. What about Colombia? If so, what is a reasonable amount to ask? I typically tutor my students once a week for 90 minutes.

Guess you want to teach for free hahaha. If you work for a company here, they are not going to want to pay you very much. You would be better off teaching private one on one to the people who have the $$$ or opening your own business. Working for someone else, ESPECIALLY IN COLOMBIA will yield very few $$$ in your pocket.
