Salary in Colombia is about $700-$1000. Not too many places will support a work visa. Try Dave's forum at eslcafe.com for GOOD info....no squabbling.

Not sure about Cali but here in Bucaramanga you could expect to make about $400 to $700 USD a month. Your experience is great and will definitely help you land a job but I am not so sure it will help raise your pay much. I think the schools will already pay you the best that they are willing to just because you are a native speaker.

If you have those credentials, you can teach American curriculum at a school for foreign children and earn $2000-$2500 per month. Don't waste your time on esl for Colombians.....wow..that sounds kind of harsh.

I know the Colombo Britanico, one of Cal's highest paying bilingual schools, are looking for English lang and lit. teachers for next August/Sept. google their webpage.

You could also try the Colegio Bolivar, the US curriculum school. Big bucks, apparently.

Bilingual schools are where the money is if you can hack the kids.
