My wife came here on a K-1 visa and we were married in early fall. Now we are waiting on AOS, and as the year approaches, am I going to be able to file my taxes as a joint return with her as a dependent? Just looking for a little advice.

utopiacowboy says on Nov 10, 2006, 14:49: Even if she does not have a social security number, you can get a federal tax id number for her. Before my wife and kids had social security numbers, they all had federal tax ids so I could claim them and file a joint return with her. See www.irs.gov Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
