It’s been to long since we did it I don’t remember all the details, but it wasn’t to bad. Had to have vaccination records. Rabies was the biggie. The biggest hassle was at the airport in Bogota with all the people and you will need a good secure kennel for flying. Check with the airline your using to see there rules for transporting a dog. Some are different. In fact I thought I heard one of the airlines stopped doing it about a year ago. I found everything I needed online either on the airline website or customs. I would recommend having the vet give you a mild tranquilizer for the dog and give it to them just before you put them in the kennels at the airport. Better allow an extra hour at the airport also because I remember we had to have someone at the airport check the papers and maybe even do a brief exam to be sure it was ok for us to fly the dog. It was a separate building just before the international terminal.I think it was $100.

scumbuster says on Oct 31, 2008, 15:26: Thats why I said a very mild tranquilizer. Just enough to relax them a little, not knock them out. Our vet recomended this and I can see why.Ours got pretty wound up from the new environment and all the people.
