You should have a trustworthy driver meet you at the airport upon your arrival.

I know a great guy that can pick you up from the airport.
His name is Juan Carlos 311 303-8435. Speaks perfect English. He won't rip you off either (55k-60k). Well worth the extra $5-$9 taking an unknown taxi.

I go to Medellin once every 3 months. I have never had a problem with a random taxi driver and never heard that was an issue in Medellin. It is 50 mil (or about $ 28.00 u.s.) to go from Rio to town, and less on the return.

Do you speak Spanish? If you think that they are ripping you off, ask them to see their list. The price usually drops from there.

And never, ever slam the door!!!
Those tin cans they drive will fall apart faster than you can run from the driver!

$3,500 minimum fare; 18,000 per hour; 48,000 from the Cordoba airport;

If you want an English speaking driver contact Mauricio Palacio www.medallolimo.com

Bus from the airport to El Centro is about 4,500 pesos.

Bus in town costs 1,200 pesos. Metro is 1,200 pesos also.
