yeah i can answer that since im costeno, people from la costa doesnt feel colombian, they feel caribean, and there are plans and proyects to if not independizar la costa from colombia atleast become autonoma from the rest of the country, off course people from the interior dont know that, or the news dont want talk about it, but there are meeting every month of all of the majors and people from the local goverment, check the results 60% say yeah to that survey, and from what i heard they say la costa will be independent in about 4 years, colombia is a centralized country, very regionalistic and im pretty sure we the costenos will atleast become an "autonomic state" soon, the goverment already knows about it, they are opposing to it, i can give you guys links to websites that talk about it, and articles in all of the newspapers from la costa are talking about it, my email is luisf0116 at hotmail.com, put Independence on the tittle so i dont delete it as spaming.

it is easy to say from the US no it will never happen, but come to la costa and say the same thing here, there is alot of stuff going on right now, the people is fed at the goverment, you need to read El Heraldo more often to see how people is feeling towards this matter right now

Like a government run by a bunch of Costeños would be any better. As an example, Cartagena has long suffered from one of the most corrupt and ineffective local governments in the whole country.

Also, I wouldn't put much credence in a decidedly unscientific survey with a total of 1,143 responses. i don't doubt that there are those that would like to see independence, but it would be a long and difficult road to achieve it. What benefits would be expected by doing such a thing?

go to la costa and ask the people these same questions, 1.143, dont forget the survey started only few hours ago, and usually no more than 400 peopel answer to the heraldo surveys, and there is no more corruption than in bogota, the corruption capital of the world, to answer your questions just google it on the internet, im gonna post some URLs where you guys can find re information

romy th paracos, mulas cocaine and weed is not a problem originated in the costa and it main focus are not in the costa either, we dont grow weed or coca in the costa, we dont have mulas in the costa and the paracos are a problem originated in antioquia and bogota, not la costa

Mr elmodefoque was discusing this topic as well as most of costenos have been doing it this year, and if the costenos want their independence they will have it, you should instead of saying thi or that against us, make the peace with us, respect our culture, gives equality on the transferences, stop the regionalism, stop the centralism, stop trying to take all the bussiness from la costa to the interior, respect our people, stop sending desmovilizados antioquenos, stop the racism, and then you could say "it will never happen"

Mr mdefoque that was a good joke, but this is not being done by any separatist party, and the fund arent being raised tru clubs, good sense of humor, but this is being done by the local goverment and local people, such as the 8 governors of the 8 caribean deparments, also the majors from most of the cities, not including chaar who is a g friend with Uribe, but this is something serious already happening. or why would the newspapers from la costa being talking about this?
