Suramericana car insurance

I am shopping for car insurance -- and Suramericana is the highest but seems to offer the most coverage. I am curious if "the gang" agrees. Larry

Is this your first time buying a car insurance? You can have a discount if you are a customer already... Most of them have the same services, Seguros Bolivar is a very good one, and Liberty Seguros. If you need further info, just let me know.

Ironically, I have Liberty Mutual (the same company= on my car and house in Florida. I ended up with Suraamerica here and they gave me a 30% discount since I was listed as family of a friend.. When looking though the glove box of the car I am buying the previous people had Liberty and the policy was listed as 9 mil with a 6 mil discount. I really don´t understand why they have these over inflated rates than apply such large discounts rather than just charging an initial value that would be considered reasonable.. Oh well, another one of the things I am starting to understand how it is, but not the reason behind it.. Larry

sorry, half spanish with the mil while the language is english -- anyhow, the premium for me will be 3,640,000 / year with the Suramericana "Classico" insurance.

buying a car has many hoops here - like I had to get a mechanical inspection at the car center and buy a roadside safety kit - apparently, all are required by law. Then there is not only the main insurance but the manditory insurance that you buy at the gas station.. So many papers!! I learned that if you kill someone driving and have insurance - you don't go to jail (while no insurance means jail). Wow, I couldn't believe that the sales guy told me this. It sounds so strong..
