Suggestions for Shipping 3 New HP Desktop Computer to Cartagena?

I need to ship 3 new HP desktop computers and 3 Viewsonic monitors to my office in Cartagena, and would like to get some input from people who have shipped valuable items to Cartagena or Colombia. Specifically, i am looking for shipping companies that some people here have used and would consider trustworthy and reliable. I dont mind paying for trustworthiness, but i dont want to rent a 747 to do it if you know what i mean....The monitor boxes are 20lbs each, and the computer boxes are 44 lbs each. Shipping origin would be San Jose in California. Would the weight of the items prevent them from being shipped via air, which would be the preference. If shipped by air, are there any special customs restrictions or procedures for pick up in CTG? I know that with relocations, you can bring up to 3 of each item before the Import taxes apply. Any information is appreciated.

Go to Zaicargo website. They can answer all your questions...They are also the fastest and
Cheapest to ship any packages over 25/lb....In California they are
based out of NorthRidge,Ca... but run a P/U service in SanJose 2x a
week, and will get you there to CartaGena in 7 days or less.....
Also good at pushing paperwork -through Colombias customs nightmare.
You can track your packages on line till they are delivered.......
I have used them both ways many times............................
What type of business are you opening in Colombia?

The shipper knows how to beat the system. They will have you list them items for relocation....
Then you can send them without the duty..............
Also when you fly,you can enter with $1,500.00 in personel
atricules, but if you have the work visa or visa to relocate
such as pension visa...then its bring everything they allow..
And use a split container option......

Fly with them The best way is to fly with your computers as free baggage. Couldn`t you take them down with you on your next trip?

Untreated..i have done that before with only 1 computer and a high end Canon printer. one went a checked luggage and the other i paid the overage fee, which i think was $100. i think that i would run into some problems if i tried to bring 3 computers and 3 monitors. UG, i just renewed my Business Visa for 2 more years. I am shipping a 20' containter where i can put them in there along with relocation property, but there is the long delay in ship time from California....but i wanted to have the employees starting using the new computers....BTW, the Windows Vista Ultimate edition has a feature which allows you to change the language of the windows program into spanish very easily....=)

Just my opinion...

Burn me a copy of the new vista. And I will give all the secrets......
And then you cant get what shipped in or out,
of the Palanca de Colombia..........
Containers when shipped always take a long long long long
time....dont know if the drop at Panama and wait there,
for enough to amke the rest of the trip to Cartagena or
what.....people say its always faster via shipping
,to Barranquilla from Calif EEUU......................
even though it sonly a little over a hour run,to P/U
from Cartagena from B/Q...Its usally worth the drive to
P/U in B/Q....Im serous about the secrets............
Here you can survive....If you know how to survive...
