Suggestions for a place to propose in Cali?

Oh wow, I'm glad I tropece con este sitio. Anyway, not to steal the thunder from the other guy who is asking the same question, only for Bogota... but you could really help me out with your suggestions.

Also, should I see about getting a mariachi to assist in the honors? Or is that just pompous? I want it to be memorable and exciting.

Thank you friends...

I remain,

Sr. Rima V

Really ... sometimes the simple solutions just work the best.
But do select a very romantic spot for the occasion. A spot that has a special place in her mind ;-)

And don't forget the engagementring ;-)

some like, some others don't Wherever it is that you are proposing, PLEASE first try to find out if she likes mariachis. Do not forget that we looooove salsa. Personally, I wouldv'e killed my now husband if he brings mariachis. "El mirador de san antonio" is very romantic place and you can see the city from above. Good luck!

Yes, but according... to my wife the mariachis and a serenata are kinda expected. I was threated with death, at least being handed over to FARC, by her sisters unless I did this. Not real sure where you can hire them in Bogotá but we have seen the bands around some Mexican restuarants like Museo del Tequila in the Zona Rosa.

Wow.. So there is truth to the mariachis.

This gal hired a seranata to be sung for her mother's birthday as a surprise. It was quite a surprise to me as well (the fact that a daughter would do that for her mother - it seems like something that a gentleman would traditionally do for a lady).

Today I picked up the ring. There's always a chance to turn back if I freak out. She is an awesome, spirited, loving young lady but I'm nervous as hell.

Any other advice out there? It will help calm me down.

It sounds like you are in love. Are your palms sweaty and is your stomach is turning over and over? You my friend are in love !! Go with your heart and enjoy life with your fiance to be.

I for one would like to hear how this all turns out for you. I wish you and your Senorita a happy life together.

Rema V Try the steps of San Antonio over looking the city of Cali just before the sun goes down. It is truly Beautiful and the people around you during this time will make it even more romantic for you. You might even take some flowers with you.
A knee is good also. :)
