Successful Medellin Restaurante for Sale - very Cheap!

I am selling a restaurant in Medellin. It is in El Centro only 2 blocks from the San Antonio, metro station.

The reason we are selling the restaurant is because my girlfriend is the administrator and she is moving to be with me in the USA soon.

Therefore we are offering at the restuarante at a ridiculously low price in order to sell it quickly.

We are only askin 19,000,000 pesos about $9,500 USD.

The sales average about $3,500,000 pesos each week.

It is located in a large building with 100's of businesses. The restaurant has 4-5 employees and sells a lot of meals. It is very busy, it is in Hueco, if anyone has been to this area in El centro then you know it is one of the best areas to own a business. The amount of people in El centro is amazing.

I am en Medellin now until Sunday, February 24th, 2008. If visiting after this date, then my girlfriend can show the restaurant.

Email me at aobanco at msn.com for contact information.

There are a ton of fast food restaurants in that area. What kind of food do you have there?

very generous offer, but I am not into restaurant. My father used to own a restaurant in Newcastle (England) about 15-20 years ago. If I were my father, I might consider this business!! I am into Fashion business :)))

GOOD LUCK !!!

would you allow for an audit of the business?

how long has it been in business?
what is the lease payment? terms?
when does the lease renew?
how much capital equipment do you own?
i assume $3.5 million is a gross figure?
what is the total amount of the monthly payroll?

would you finance the $9500 for an agreed upon term?
what is the total amount of an average month's food stock? who are your suppliers?

Finance 9,500.00? That is nothing you could throw it on a credit card? Just curious why finance - just to give you the option if he F'd you over?

Throwing it on a credit card would also mean you were financing it.

It's business. I'd approach it the same way if it was $900k. And $10,000 is hardly a small chunk of change to most Colombians.

Spartan,
I would normally post some reply if it were about something other than someone elses lively hood.
I could post my opinions, facts, and the such and than some smart ass who has no business or interest in this mans business would come by and start butchering it up because they just simply do not have anything else to do.
If we were talking about something in general and not pertaining to this I would and enjoy being open to the usual smart ass! Thats all ! Just something I am more comfortable with doing behind the scenes. If you want shoot me an email, I will tell you what I know. The place has positives and negatives, someone could make a go of it if they want!
Peace

Actually only a few people have came to the restaurant to check it one and it was sold last week for more then price offered. However I was not able to meet with the person to sign the papers and he was so anxious to purchase a business he purchased another one. The restuarante sells tipico Colombian foods. If you have doubts on the sales, why not come sit in the restaurante at lunch time and you can see for yourself the telephone rings none stop with orders.

As far as the price drop, I dropped it only because I do not care if I lose some money on it, I am in Colombia only for a short period of time and would like to sell it while I am here. Everyone that has seen it thinks I should be asking more for it.

If you can show me a restaurante that you can buy in this location of Medellin for a lower price that sells as much food as my restaurante, then I'd like to know about it.

- anyone would have to be extremely hard up not to conduct due diligence on a business for sale. simple questions like these should be easy to answer if the biz is in fact what it is purported to be. never purchase real estate or businesses without conducting due diligence folks.........

If you are going to call me an idiot, please learn how to write coherently in English. Thanks.

If it's so little money, why don't you just buy it.

Buyslake is correct. The place has a lot of traffic. For the price, right person, and some TLC you could make a go of it. I cannot speak for COGS versus Gross Sales and Profit. But again the price is tempting.

Well, I just got back from Medellin. I got the necessary papers completed with a Notary to enable my administrator to sell the restaurante for me if I am not in Colombia.

I have pictures of the restaurante and area in front which I just took a few days ago. If you would like pictures email me: aobanco at msn.com

tejasmarcos, I thought responded to all your questions in an email earlier, if you did not receive it email me again. No I will not finance $9,500 dollars, I would suggest you take advantage of a credit card offer or find other means of getting the money. You can take up to 10,000 when entering the country so this is easy for anyone. You could also send me a check here in the USA.

One thing to point out is, this business has been in place for many years and we have a large number of clients that buy their daily lunch from us everyday. So you are not only getting the restuarante equipment and trained employees but a also a huge client base. Something that may take years to acquire when starting a new restaurante.

Rent is 760,000 pesos per month only about $380 USD

The food is good, and the service is very fast and friendly!

buyslake says on Feb 29, 2008, 08:12:

More info: The restaurante has been in business in that location for 15 years and therefore has a large client base.
