Sounds like a perfect opportuntity to share some Canadian/American/bar band/drunken college student culture...teach them THE RODEO SONG. ;-)

I sing it on days like today: -24C in Mpls and with a wind chill index of -37C

Yea Tinto Chgo is a Freezer too! Now it should be perfectly obvious that until Chgo has a domed stadium, Chgo will never see a Super Bowl. It is 7 F (14C) with a wind chill of
-13F (-25C). Now those are temperatures that Colombians living in Colombia cannot begin to imagine what feels like.

I remember it snowed in Bogota once Maybe 10 to 15 years ago.. it was quite the deal. About the sub-zero the - 6.8 lows were recorded in Tenjo which must be pretty closeby (one of the other communities mentioned is about 1 hr out of the city). Here's an article from El Tiempo:

http://www.eltiempo.com/

Rubito and Adrimm Rubito, temperatures over 20°C are not rare up to 22°C is normal in late January and February and also in July/August. Up to 23 or 24°C is normal only in February. Temperatures also drop normally during February down to -2 or -3°C. It always becomes an issue because of forest fires and dried grass in the Sabana which leads to low milk production. But this is our traditional beautiful February days.

Adrimm we do not ever get snow in Bogota, we do get at least 3 or 4 very large hail storms a year that leave the city covered in white.

Are you serious, G5? "Now it should be perfectly obvious that until Chgo has a domed stadium, Chgo will never see a Super Bowl." It wouldn't have been any worse than that slop they played in Miami today. When will people realize that Florida is NOT sunny? It rains there constantly. From here on out they play in a domed stadium or someplace like Arizona where they can count on suitable playing conditions. That game was ridiculous. I wrote the NFL and told them they were a bunch of dumb motherf*ckers who couldn't organize a three car funeral.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

goin_south says on Feb 4, 2007, 23:09:

I don't think it matters or mattered,... Rex GroseroMan IS NOT .... PEYTON MANNING... irregardless of conditions. And, the same could be said of the semi-final game: Rex GroseroMan is not DREW BREES! But, in one situation of foul weather, los Osos pulled it out. In another,...HEY! IF ANY ONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT.... it was De Bears.

So, yeah. Require every city to have domed stadiums, if you want everyone to play under 'PERFECT...controlled....CIRCUMSTANCES'. Otherwise... As they always say: both teams play on the same field.

On another line of thinking... WHO HAS HOSTED THE MOST SUPER BOWLS?
I gotta think it is either New Orleans, or Miami.
Why?

Smokin I'm burning up in Cartago. Beautiful sunny days every day for a while now. El Nino? Global warming? I like the sun as I come from So. Cal. But this is a bit much. Looking forward to some rain. ??????????????????????? However, wouldn't move to one of the bigger cool cities of Colombia. I like the ease of getting around in a small town, with everything somewhat close and easy to access.

Peter Miami says on Feb 5, 2007, 13:04:

UC

There has been 9 Super Bowls in Miami and this is the first time it rains. So I do not know where you get you weather reports from but I would check it out if I was you. And the reasons it is played in Miami for a tie record of 9 times is because we have;
Great weather
Tremendous nightlife
Lot’s of fine restaurants
Lot’s of hotels
Lot’s of limousines
Lot’s of private planes – to rent while all the stars and rich people are here.
Lot’s of Helicopters – to get from airport or other places to the stadium.
Lot’s of airports
Lot’s of beautiful people – women & men
Etc, etc, etc……

The Super Bowl is an event of two weeks it is just not a game of 3 plus hours.

Super Bowl Yes, New Orleans is tied with Miami with 9 Super Bowls. Miami will host the 2010 Super Bowl which means we will lead with 10 Super Bowl hosted. And this is not counting Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida.

2008 in Arizona
2009 in Tampa, Florida

utopiacowboy says on Feb 5, 2007, 21:33:

That's exactly my point, Peter Miami. I think the Super Bowl should be played in the US for a change.

From the Wikipedia article on Miami: "Miami receives abundant rainfall, one of the highest among major U.S. cities. Most of this rainfall occurs from mid-May through early October. It receives annual rainfall of 58.6 inches (1488 mm)..."

That's unbelieveable - 58 frigging inches! People don't get suntans there - they rust! The only thing they should be playing in Miami is water polo.
