Studying and Student Visa´s in Colombia

Hi Everyone,

I have just gone through the exhaustive experience of trying to find a school that suited my needs, interest and Visa requirments for Colombia.

The spanish language courses I could affoard like the national University were not long enough for Colombian studnet visa requirments as they want a minimum of six months.

I really wanted to study something id use in life and not just waste my time and money on. But almost all the course were a minimum of $1000 US which I can´t affoard.

So finally after searching the web for an eternity i had luck by getting my spanish speaking boyfriend to go through the Bogota Yellow pages, I found a course that suited me and that was govt approved at a "unitec" level. It was only 600.000 pesos ($300) for 6mths perfect.

Moral of the story? Get the visitors visa, then find a native tounge to help you search for your ideal course giving your self lots of time and reguardless of what course you choose, you will learn spanish pretty fast catching the bus there and home and communicating with your classmates and teachers.
