studied Spanish in Medellin?

Hola,

I had the opportunity to visit Medellin recently, and I liked it, so I am thinking of taking a sabbatical to learn Spanish (finally) there. If anyone has any information on learning Spanish in Medellin (including where not to go), please let me know (fyi, I must study at an accredited institution). If you had a great experience learning Spanish in another country, feel free to tell me about that too, as I can go anywhere.

Gracias.

Peter

EAFIT I think the best option for you is to study spanish at EAFIT University.
Check their site
www.eafit.edu.co

And look for the "spanish for foreigners" page in the "Idiomas" link

Look at Nicaragua. There is a company with three schools across nica located in Leon,Granada and San Juan Del Sur.
You can move between the three as you like ,it's a great way to get around .
I have studied at two and can really recommend them, the rates are fantastically reasonable and the country is a dream so peaceful and beautiful.
All my time en central america is now divided between nica y colombia.
If you are intrested let me know and I will fill you in on the details.

I have taken classes at EAFIT. I will be taking another class in March. A friend of mine, a 61 y/o gringo will be in Spanish 2 starting Feb23. We both love it. Gym, pool, nice cafeteria. Loads of companions as it has a fairly large curriculum. 2 hours a day for 4 weeks or 4 hours a day for 2 weeks intensive. We do the 2 hours a day. It's just to hard to concentrate after lunch! Especially when you make new friends almost evedry daay in the cafeteria! They (EAFIT) also help you with your student visa, Cedula , and then setting up a bank account etc.

Live your fantasies because life is short and from all I've seen death is really, really long....

Cedula Can you get a cedula by studying Spanish in Medellin? I am trying to figure out the best way to get a cedula as I already own an apartment in Medellin, but do not know how to exactly qualify for a cedula? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
