Student Visa or Bust!

Student Visa or Bust!

Okay now that I caught your attention I need help! Has anyone been through the process of aquiring a student visa to study in Colombia?

What do I need to bring to the Colombian Consulate in New York?

I have been researching and could only come up with

a) My U.S. Passport
b) Onward/Return Ticket

is that all I need to bring or is there something missing. Also I do not know the exact date I plan on leaving Colombia either could I just present an onward ticket?

If you could help please...I am excited and eager to study Spanish in Colombia this fall at the Universidad de la Sabana.
