student visa -> tourist?

i have been in the country several months on a student visa and know from das that i need to leave the country for a few days to be able to come back as a tourist. what i don´t know is *exactly how many days.* anyone know?

also, if it´s, let´s say, 4 days, does that mean i can leave on 1 june and come back 4 june, or is it that if you leave 1 june, you come back 5 june?

thanks sincerely

You will have no problem. I did the same thing. If you go out of the country you can come back within three days (officially) but also two days is possible as long as it is not on the same day ( i tried). I went to the border with Venezuela near Rio Hacha and got two months. After that you can go to the das to get your monthly extension up to six months.

They don't care...you will have no problems They have problems keeping people from leaving. I have been away from MDE for a weekend several times and have come back with a fresh stamp each time...no questions asked.
