I was in Colombia recently and I could not find any street maps of Medellin or any other city in Colombia. Does anyone know if maps are available? They seem to be impossible to find. Thanks.

john_stark says on Dec 25, 2007, 16:38: The inhabitants of Medellin seldom use maps because the streets are laid as Calles (running east and west) and Carreras (running north and south) which are numbered south to north and east to west. Most US cities have street names so without a map you can't tell where you are or where you need to go. From a street address in Medellin you can tell exactly where it is. Salt Lake City's street system goes by the same principle.

manINred says on Dec 30, 2007, 13:25: gogopher, I was in the exact same predicament as you. I could not find any street maps of Medellin when I was there. I often like to study them, helps me mentally grasp the layout of a city. I didn't need one in the end, I just figured it out from the numbering calle system (as explained by John_stark).
