Staying on the Island

Hello,
I am a Canadian Women and my fiancee, is from San Andres Island, we plan to get married in May and I am planning to live down there with him. I know that I need something called the Ocra, to stay on the island, but being a Canadian, would anyone happen to know what I need to become a citizen of Colombia. What proper documents would I need to maintain a life there after we are married and how long does it take?
Any help?
Janelle

Info on Colombia Hello Janelle

Your best bet is to contact the Colombian Consulate or Embassy in Canada, they can tell you exactly what you need and how to get it.

Good luck!

First of all Janelle..... The prime is you should learn to speak some Spanish and maybe your internet skills are low (which is acceptable in a way).....

I just read this post and 2 seconds later i got the website of the embassy of colombia in Canada :-)

Just type into google : embajada de colombia en Canada and off you go !!

Here is the link : http://www.embajadacolombia.ca/

Well Thank you First of all, I am not lacking in internet skills, I was simply looking on the Canadian Government website, to see what info I could obtain there, becasue the website www.embajadacolombia.ca, is all in spanish. Thanks for the advice on learning to speak spanish, I have already started taking courses, but just in case you did not know......% 60 of San Andres Islanders, speak english, as does my fiancee. But thanks for all of the advice! Anyone else have some insight on how to use Google? Just kidding....would anyone else be able to answer my question?
Thanks.
