Sr. Tertius... where are you now?

Your boy has uttered some of his last words:

"The imperial plan is to overthrow this government and knock down the Bolivarian Revolution," he said, referring to his socialist movement. "They're afraid of the impact of this revolution in the rest of the countries ... of Latin America. That permanent aggression is because of that."

A Bolivarian Revolution exists? Why is this fool wasting his time? He would be better served preaching to religious morons. I do not understand Señor Terdius. Can you enlighten me?

His final post was February 28th so I'm sure he will be back when the Cynthia McKinney for president delegates have their final vote.

I'm starting to think the US is secretly paying Chavez to run solialism into the ground.

Let's face it, just because Chavez is acting like a complete twat, doesn't undermine the argument that the US is paranoid about ANYTHING socialist. It just so happens... this time they got lucky, Chavez has self-destructed long before they needed to remove him.

And nor should Chavez ruin the name of socialism... anymore more than papa Bush should democracy.

And more importantly... even though Chavez is talking a lot of shit... it doesnt justify all the talk that some gringos have previously said/believed... aka miniskirt... etc... etc...

Probably something along the lines of possessing a psychotic paranoid delusional persona and can lie with sincerity?

What about this... the american interviewer seems to fall in love with Chavez after about 20 seconds.

Aaron21 says on Mar 14, 2008, 22:13:

This demonstrates his hypocrisy, his delusions of grandeur, and exactly why 'socialism' never works. All 'socialist' leaders have become totalitarian dictators who are only interested in their own self-preservation and enrichment. The louder these fools get the faster is their demise - and he is roaring ...

I'd seen the video before but watched it again and I didn't see Barbara Walters showing any sign of falling in love. It was typical, nothing unusual.

The questions are to the point. I wouldn't expect another answer,, especially based on the first video.

Several Venezuelans I worked with in 2001 were worried about their property. One was from Britain married to a Venezuelan. Nationalizing properties is a sure way to maintain poverty.

Come on now. Even though I seldom, actually never, agreed with Sr. T., he was (IS) always articulate, intelligent and thought provoking in his posts, and although he was always wrong, jeje, he did express the leftist (I know, he will reject that label, as most leftists do) point of view better than anybody else here.

one of the reasons I dislike him so much (besides being pompous) is that he is intelligent, which in my opinion makes his support for socialists/communists/anarchists inexcusable.

I can forgive the many naiive souls who blindly follow the leftist path, but those who have actually thought about or studied it and still believe are, in my opinion, willing supporters of the most immoral and evil regimes in history.

usher127 says on Mar 15, 2008, 09:55:

'Usher, is that the best you can do?'

Well, what exactly is the argument??

I've made 2 arguments... and you chose to ignore both of them...

1. It's inappropriate that so many americans are shocked by a president that ''possesses a psychotic paranoid delusional persona and can lie with sincerity'... when they should look closer to home. In this respect, I can't distinguish Chavez from Bush.

2. Yes, Chavez has self-destructed. Though, he still hasn't banned mini-skirts and it remians to be seen how he will continue or not as president. Nor do the failures of Chavez mean that 'socialism' is necessarily evil and that all latin american countries should abolish the idea of free health care or equal opportunities to education. So, why is this thread trying to sound like some kind of victory march?

usher127 says on Mar 15, 2008, 10:05:

So, who is going to win the next US election? I've been watching a lot of American Idol... shit, I mean... American Politician... err you know, that show with the black guy verses the white lady... who will win?

Oh sorry, I guess most of you are supporting the ex-nam guy.. you know... with the 'psychotic paranoid delusional persona' cuz he can PROTECT AMERICA from the evil countries of the world.

Anyway, how will it affect Colombia?

Aaron21 says on Mar 15, 2008, 10:07:

To clarify, in case anyone has a misconception of this post, I do not believe Tertius is the fool here (the "scurrilous dog" comment was tongue-in-cheek). He is extremely articulate and argues very well; thus, I requested his enlightenment... : ) ... I do however believe Chavez to be a megalomaniac and his supporters are fools for following him. Now, where art thou, Sr. ?

Socialism is more relevant than ever, but unfortunately whilst the majority bathe in the blissful ignorance imposed by The Establishment, whilst you are given just enough comfort to allow you to languish in contentment, the leftist vision is given over to the mad and the incompetent.
