Spousal Visa but I heard this is Common Law and Marriage under this Visa

What requirements are there for Common Law partnership instead of Marriage any difference...Really not ready for marriage but this Common Law might be good..

I just got one of these. I have lived with a Colombiana for over 3 years. We have no plans to marry. The fee for the VISA was US$160. It is good for 2 years. I can renew it for 2 more years. Then I can get a permanent VISA.

We had to submit a lot of paperwork. I paid a lawyer 600K pesos for her work on this. I also gave 110K in "gratuities."

Tom Tom Can you refer an attorney in Medellin.. Would like to discuss that option with the attorney..Sounds like the best way to go without getting married..

PM I've been in Medellin for nearly 6 months, and I'm right in the middle of the visa process.

You're not accepting e-mail contact for a private message... use the contact form on my profile to write to me, and I can share some ideas with you.

common law marriage Well, according to this point you have missed the most important document for the application " the declaration of the couple that certifies you as a common law marriage and you are considered as permanent partners". Without this paper, you CAN NOT APPLY for the visa.

Of course the application is completed when you attach the other documents of the spousal visa

Yes, I can refer the attorney that I used in Medellin. I am in the States now for the summer. If you send me a PM, I can send my novia a note and ask for Diana's info.

I think you need 2 years together, but I may be wrong.
