Sponsoring bioligical parents & siblings

Can someone clarify this for me. I have a friend that was adopted by her aunt...She is now an american citizen and she wanted to know if its possible to sponsor her biological parents & siblings....

She went to a lawyer and he informed her that she wasn't eligible to sponsor them...Can someone please let me know if this is true or not?

Thanks in advance.

No She Can Not... generally speaking, in order for an adoption to be legal, the biological parents must formally renounce any responsibility for the child and freely agree to the adoption in writing and a sworn statement and the court decree will state she is legally considered to be the daughter of the adoptive parents. The other problem, since the court, in all probability, changed her name to that of the adoptive parents and her application for citizenship would reflect that name I am sure BCIS would want to know why her "parents" have a different name than she does. I would stick to what the attorney advises in as much as he is being paid for his expertise in these matters.

Any way good luck but I am afraid it is a lost cause.

A little More Bad News this was copied from the Citizenship and Immigration page:

This information is for U.S. citizens who wish to petition for or “sponsor” their alien parent(s) to live permanently in the U.S. Only U.S. citizens are eligible to petition for their parent(s). A U.S. Citizen must be at least 21 years of age to petition for a parent. ((please note: if you have been legally adopted, you may not petition for your birth parent(s)).
