This article on El Espectador says that Spirit is changing its mind about flying to Medellin. Instead, it wants to fly to Eje Cafetero. Aerocivil says they might penalise them for this. They also said they offered them benefits if they start a route to San Andres.
On the other hand, Jet Blue starts flying on 29 January and Aeromexico is requesting permission to fly from Mexico City to Medellin. This permit has initially been denied because it would be unequal for Colombian airlines since Mexico denied a similar application from Aerorepublica. Avianca is waiting for new planes to start flying again to London and Paris and new destinations in Latin America.

utopiacowboy says on Jan 27, 2009, 20:20: Too bad the Mexicans won't allow Aerorepublica in - there would be more traffic for everyone because there are a lot of flights from North American cities nonstop to Mexico City. It would be a great alternative to Miami which I hate. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
