partida de bautismo / registro de nacimiento

Our interview is tomorrow. My girlfriend has the originals. However, she requested copies so that she wouldn't have to leave the originals in the Embassy.

You know what? She's right next to me. I'm going to let her write this in Spanish because I have no idea what she's talking about.....

yo fui ala notaria para autenticar las copias de la partida de bautismo y de mi registro civil y alla una mujer me dijo que esos papeles necesitaban ademas dela firma del notario una firma en la gobernacion de bolivar porque esa firma era la que el consul en la embajada reconocia y no la firma del notario . yo quiero saber si eso es cierto.

Aparte de eso, si las copias que tenemos no sirven, no debe ser ningun problema con la visa de todos modos, como tenemos los originales, verdad? Antemano les agradezco sus consejos.

Cuando fuimos a la embajada par la visa de mi esposa, sus documentos tienen solamente la firma de la notaria y nada en la gobernacion. Creo que no tendras un problema manana si tengas las originales contigo.

You don't leave them, as I recall I think they just looked at those documents to confirm everything is in order then you get them back.

If the originals are signed and stamped, then you should be OK. If not, you should probably just reschedule the interview and get signed and stamped originals.

Thanks for your answers, guys. I couldn't understand why we should worry about signatures on copies when we have originals. I think we'll be OK. I'll post a little later. By the way.... saying Bogota is "cold" might be the understatement of the decade. It was about 77 degrees early Saturday morning, but then we were caught in a hailstorm by 1 PM!!!! I CAN'T STAND THIS WEATHER!!!!

Si no te preocupes Yo tambien lleve fotocopias notariadas y no hubo ningun problema. Cuando tengas que poner los papeles en la carpeta que te van a dar en la embajada pon esas fotocopias (porque de verdad ellos van a quedarse con lo que les entreguen) y si te ponen algun problema pues como tienes los originales contigo, se los muestras.

Mucha suerte en tu entrevista... les deseo lo mejor y cuentenos que sucede cuando tengan noticias.

Tambien te deseo un muy buen viaje a los estados unidos, traete la comida que pienses que vas a extra;ar en la maleta, asi si te dan antojos o empiezas a extra;ar la tierra... te comes tu bocadillo (o la comida qeue piensas que vas a extra;ar)... de verdad que matar un antojo cuando estoy extra;ando mi pais me ayuda a sentirme mejor

As UTC said in Espanol, photocopies with signatures fromn the notary is all you need. Good luck. -TNC
