PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
The American film "Spanglish" is opening in the UK next Friday, I think. I know it probably screened in the US ages ago, I don't know about Colombia or the resst of Europe, but if you have seen it, is it any good? Now I must point out, when I say 'any good', I don't mean in a 'Citizen Kane' type way, but in a cheesy, light-hearted, I-only-need-one-brain-cell-for-this type way... Might go and see it, what did you thik of it?

Thededalus says on Feb 19, 2005, 05:48: Shazcas To be honest I haven't seen it, but just the other night two friends (an American and his Mexican fiancee) were telling me I should watch it. I had the impression that anybody who has had the Latin/Bilingual experience could appreciate it.

ShazCas says on Feb 19, 2005, 06:09: Oh yes I see what you mean Desi, as you can read above I have learnt how to edit posts, but as I have said above, it won't let me edit the original one. Is it too late to edit it now that I have posted again?

Desideria (Moderator) says on Feb 19, 2005, 06:33: I don't know Shaz, I have never tried to edit an initial post in a thread. I might well be that you can edit all other posts you've made afterwards, except a thread starter. I wanted to know if it was aprropriate for the whole family (including little kids) to watch----not worried about if they'd sit still, cuz popcorn helps with that, but wondering how it fares on the "cussability" scale.

It also shows how behind the eight ball american guys are dealing with american women . It also shows why they would be attracted to latin women.

utopiacowboy says on Feb 19, 2005, 11:38: I am interested in seeing it but we have to wait until it is on DVD for the Spanish subtitles. My wife's English is still not good enough to watch a film without Spanish subtitles or English captions. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
