PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
This is the only place I could figure to post this question on the forum - please feel free to send me somewhere else, if there's a better place....;)
I am thinking about setting up manufacturing in Colombia of an electrical product, but to be distributed throughout South America- specifically, initially Colombia, Peru, possibly Bolivia, and Argentina.
My problem now is- all the free trade agreements in place (mercosur, etc.) are confusing as hell. Does anyone know of a site where they have a comprehensive database, or even links to accurate info on the various trade agreements and their impacts on shipping from one country to another? After hours of googling, my head hurts.
I really need to figure out what import duties, if any, will be levied, country by country, of my product, if I decide to proceed. But like everything else about latin america- there seems to be no one definitive authority on the various agreements.
help, please?

Gaijin says on Aug 15, 2007, 15:02: I have an agent who takes care of all my products being imported to colombia and exported to the US. If you want his number send me an email to Gaijintuning at hotmail.com. I know he can help you out, but he only speaks spanish so hopefully you speak it well.
