I am going to Cali on 12th February - 19th February.
I will be flying from London Heathrow on Virgin Airlines via Miami and then change to American Airline to Cali.
FOR BRITISH TRAVELLERS, who have flew to Cali via USA route, did you need USA visa just to wait at the airport? I already know that we do not need visa to enter Colombia especially for just 1 week, but I want to know if I have to obtain visa to wait at USA airport ???

kalder says on Jan 24, 2008, 04:47: Cerealkiller is absolutely right. Just make sure you fill in the correct form. First time I did the London-Miami-Cali thing, the American Airline cabin crew gave me totally erroneous advice on which to fill in and how. Buongone says on Jan 24, 2008, 04:50: Kind of on the same subject. What if a Colombiana travels on Copa to Houston. Then catches a hop down to Cabo San lucas. Layover in Houston is like 1 1/2 hrs. Also about the same time coming back down to Cali. What kind of paperwork if any do's she need? Thanks.

panthdave says on Jan 24, 2008, 04:56: Why would you want to fly from Panama to Houston instead of Panama to Cabo San Lucas direct or via Mexico City instead of Houston. I would assume no transit area then you need a visa if your on Colombian Passport going via USA.... panthdave Miami 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

britabroad says on Jan 24, 2008, 07:23: You´ll get a 60 day US visa stamped in your passport at Miami Airport for stopovers - provided the form you´re given on the plane is completed. But be prepared for the immigration staff there who might insist on speaking Spanish and get the hump when they have to speak in English. kalder says on Jan 25, 2008, 04:25: I've discussed the allegations of racism at MIA with two black Americans. A glance at and two seconds' conversation with these men would tell you they were citizens, not gangsters or drug dealers. But, more often than not, at MIA that's how they've been treated. Robert Jorge says on Jan 25, 2008, 23:08: Kalder, last time I arrived in Miami, I don't recall seeing or dealing with one non-black agent / official upon arrival. Nothing wrong with that - but I find it hard to imagine there are black workers treating other blacks and Latinos, many of whom are of color, with prejudice and stereotyping. Also, it's my just personal experience and certainly not proof either. It seems like in MIA, they treat everybody equally shitty, and the whole airport gives me the creeps. It seems like it is on the edge of chaos or something. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children.
