frzdan The trip was wonderful. I met with a number of Directors in Cali schools. The problem I faced was that it is in the middle of their school year. ( I did not think of that ) Most schools are in good shape at this point but within a few months it will open up again. Getting to see these people is a bit like getting into Fort Knox. Armed guards, locked gates, no access, there are not here, I be happy to give your resume to them but the key I found out was calling first, and doing as they asked. You get an appointment, make the drive and then you get in. All were friendly and interested just bad timing on my part but the trip was great.
I was taken to camping site on the river. Built a fire from WET wood, had 25 people for dinner and had a great time being with the love of my life and her family.
It was good, the water was cold and the family devotion is something I have not seen in years.
I spoke to a person that works with my fiance and was told that he would like to see her come to the USA. We talked and agreed that coming here would be better but I gave the schools I spoke to until the 1st of Feburary. After the first I begin the process of the K1 visa. I have a had a package sent to her prior and all that is needed other then the blood test and trip to Bogata, is complete. Things that we knew we would have to have for this process. We have a child and I knew we would have to have the paperwork of release from his father completed so we went to an attorney in Cali and it is finished and done by the court. Things like letters from where she works, police report, bills paid, Visa photo(s) passport updates for her and child, information paperwork on family and friends, well, all that we know about is done. I have a friend in Bogata that handles the K1 visa for a total of $895.00 start to finish and has done many.
We are happy and I am excited to bring her here. It is actually easier to do the K1 visa then any other both in time and in money.
I have bank deposits statements for the past three years completed and now I wait on the first. I see no problem but you just never know. Anything can happen but getting things in order and correct is very important. Dot all the I's and cross all the T's correctly and do what your told to do and then hope for the best.
Either way I am going to be happy. Here or there.
Finally, the schools there are very beautiful. Great for kids. SOme better then others and it is easy to tell as you see them. The British school there is another good one but hard to get in to.
I got carried away a bit , hope you don't mind. I love Colombia and I love her family but being here to begin our life is good also. I did not fine a perfect 10, I found a perfect 12. I wish every man on this site trying to fill the hole in his heart goes there.I met a number of her friends there that are beautiful, hard working, family devoted, loving and kind. They are lonely and looking for a good man also.We all deserve that don't we? The people men and women are good hard working and honest and devoted people.
I have not even once had any problems in Cali Colombia. I was treated with respect and was helped by the police when I had a question and I have nothing but good to say about the people and their country. They are polite and friendly. Something we Americans could practice on a bit I think. For all that read this, please understand that I have nothing but good to talk about regarding Cali. I wish all of you looking the same good fortune.

Friends???? How do you place a value on that?? They are like memories, without them you have nothing

Sonny I think your experience looking for a teaching job would be a good thing to add to a guide on this site. It seems timing will play a big role in the opportunities available.

It is good to hear things are going well with your girl. If you end up going through visa process, good luck. I haven't gone through it myslef, but from listening to others, it can be very frustrating. We had a saying when I was in the military; Hurry up and wait. I think that probably applies to the K1 visa process.

I agree I am using my friend in Bogata because so far he has a 100% approval rating. I depend on his knowledge and hope for the best.
