Songs that take you back to a special place in Colombia

This song takes me back to Cartagena “Tu Candela? every single colombiana was singing this chit and there was this pre pago dancing to it.
man I have never ever seen anyone dance so sexy and she was not that pretty, had that slender barrio girl look, but watching her, she blossomed into the most beautiful broad in the planet.
There, my sensitive side!

Coming down from the mountains cold, shrouded in the late afternoon mists, the clammy chill still embracing your skin and deep in your bones, the roadside barbecue fires burning amidst the lush tropical greenery, descending from Km18 to Cali, into the deepening, violet dusk of the valley of the Cauca River, with the lights
of the city starting to twinkle down below.....and "Mi Pueblo Natal" playing in the car stereo...a moment of magic.

Anything by Jorge Villamil makes me think of Neiva.

This is the best rendition I could find on Youtube.

Unido a tu recuerdo
Me llevaras en ti...

There is a monument to this song in Neiva. This song and these pics make me very nostalgic. Me dan guayabo.

Speaking of which, here is a pic my dad recently found of little CG in Neiva. How do you like my 1970s plaid pants?

running accross all sweaty shirtless and barefooted with a dead lizard (lobito) in my pocket from the mestizo'/injun side of el barrio abajo in barranquilla to the black side, i ran as fast as i could , before them modefques got up from their afternoon siesta.
If they saw me, rocks would be flying on me from every fokin direction.
why would i put myself in such danger?
el rio magdalena was on their side and I was into collection litte fish for my little home made aquarium.
my grandfather had no idea where i disappered to everyday for a couple hours and if he knew i would get a beatin. I was only 6 years old.
At around 8 pm my grandad was already passed out drunk at bar acrros where la 54 SAO is now located.
Vallenato was not around yet, but this song takes me back to those days

Here's another classic that we can probably all relate to.

Yo También Tuve Veinte Años
Jose A. Morales

Yo también tuve 20 años
y un corazón vagabundo,
yo también tuve alegrías
y profundos desengaños.

Yo también tuve 20 años
que en mi vida florecieron
20 años que a mí llegaron
se fueron y no volvieron.

Por eso desde la cima
de mis ardorosos años,
miro pasar hoy la vida
sin que me haga bien ni daño,
porque tuve la fortuna
de vivirla sin engaños,
para contar sin nostalgia
que también tuve 20 años.

I can't find the video- BUt one of my favorite songs....

Vamos colombianos
Levanten las manos
Al sonar esta cumbia
Que les canta un hermano
Al sonar esta cumbia
Que les canta un hermano.
(Baila esta cumbia sabrosa
Goza la cumbia mi hermano
Tiene sabor a langosta
La canta un venezolano).
(Baila esta cumbia sabrosa...)
Goza Cali, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Cartagena
Medellín y la Guajira, baila mi Colombia entera.
Vamos colombianos
Levanten...
(Baila esta cumbia sabrosa...)
(Baila esta cumbia sabrosa...)
Goza Cali, Barranquilla...

'Mi Valle del Cauca' almost brings tears to my eyes as I sit here far away from a land that I feel so attached to...

'Oiga Mire Vea' makes me think of Cali and La Feria, probably the best time to be in the city

'Esta Vida' is more recent but already causes nostalgia as it's guaranteed to be heard at any good Colombian party

'Desvancer' makes me think of a very special girl in my life...Colombiana

And it goes on and on... I listen to a lot of music and relate it to my life
