Something I thought Odd.

I just checked the USCIS website where I did the account thing to see if/when anything changes on the petitions for my wife/step-daughter. The part I thought was strange was that it shows:

WAC05160XXXXXX Y 07/29/2005 I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

The date shows that it was updated Yesterday the 29th but when I clicked on the case number, it didn't show anything different, so I'm trying to figure out what happened, if anything. I'm going nuts hoping that it was approved or something. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

from what i have read at visa journey it means your file was TOUCHED which means they are looking at or have assigned etc i have never have got a starit answer on that because maybe there isnt one ..mine was sent to texas on june 13th forwarded to californina and rec by them on june 21st .than my notice date was july 1st which is also the date on the website listed as received .than when i look it says it was updated july 6th but have not heard anything else ...hang in there i am sure you are close .

something is going on hey dan , i checked last night around midnight and my said july 6 th ..... i checked a few minutes ago and it also said july 29th .. so may be we are getting close ................when did you send yours and what ceneter is it at .

I sent everything for the two petitions May 9th received and forwarded by Texas to California and They sent the Notice papers on the 19th (which, I think, is when the checks cleared)

Noticed this on the bottom of the page after logging into it. pretty much says what you mentioned about them "touching" it, in that case, just a little bit of time left:

* Note on "Last Updated" date:
Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email Notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.
