Some Excitement in the Valle de Tenza

Hi All
Late this morning I saw a couple of Helicopters going overhead. A student I had at that time said that she had heard that the President was going to have a "Town Meeting". We turned on Señal Institutional and sure enough the President was on the TV from Garagoa. Our mayor and his sister both addressed the President. There weas much concern voiced about the hoirrible roads etc. They also discussed a broad band installation for the area. This meeting lasted from 12 N until about 6:15 at 6:30 I again heard the helicopters going back to Bogota. My house is on the helicopter route between Bogota and Los LLanos.

Wow, that is cool.
Are they finally going to fix the damn roads? Terrible roads and lots of unemployment.

Sure hope you get your smooth roads Bill but dealing with the Gov't I strongly believe they are all talk only...Last May the President was in our town after thousands were displaced due to the massive Rio Del Cauca flooding and left without food, utilities and water and little remaining for funds within the valley....Some money and supplies arrived however the government had also promised something would be done about the river but still nothing in negotiations, however the 3 Hydro dams can go forward in other locations except where desperately needed....go figure. Now waiting for the next major flood to come. What a waste!!
