And the electronic highway signs are saying we need to take hurricane precautions .... gas up! When Rita hit I flew back from Michigan that very morning and brought canned food and batteries with me (I figured it would be easier than trying to go to the store in Houston on the day the hurricane was supposed to hit). At least this time I seem to have a few days to stock up. I hope Dean misses TX, but I sure would hate for it to hit LA or FL either! But, most people call the whole area Destin. It is right between Panama City Beach and Pensacola. It probably is one of the most affluent areas of Florida. The US's largest private fishing fleet. I believe 12 golf courses in the immediate area - one just hosted a PGA event 2 weeks ago. The sand isn't sand (silicon); it is pulverized quartz crystal. Anyway, if you want to organize the event GS, I'll do some work on my end and find us a pad on the beach. The best months are September / October, and April / May. I am telling you, off season is the best time. Right now for example, it is bumper to bumper traffic. Hotter than crap, just no fun in my opinion ... but I am open to anytime. Really, the only bad months are November through February. Lots of people here, but they are all blue hairs from Wisconsin and Canada. I am telling you, October is perfecto. And all these new consoles come HD ready so its really cool. I love what I do b/c my talents are utilized, recognized, and I work with a bunch of young people which allows me to mentor them without being a people leader. But I also enjoyed my prior job in Human Resources. The key is to figure out what you enjoy doing, find the right environment, and have fun. If you start getting bored or unchallenged, then it's time to find something new to do. I've changed jobs every 2 years. This is the first time I've been in a job for 3 years, but I've been given more responsibility every few months so it feels like a different job (plus each audit is very different from the previous audits).
