SMS USA to Colombia

I have been successful in texting to other South American countries (Peru, Ecuador) but can't seem to get an SMS to Colombia. Is there a secret I am missing?

The standard international phone number (i.e. 011-57-300-XXX-XXXX) works fine from Sprint to Tigo. I have also sent to Comcel with no problems.

Using the Colombian carrier's website will cost the recipient for each message you send them. They are also charged when you send them a text from email or a third party service. When you send direct from your US phone, the Colombian recipient is not charged.
