Pretty prententious handle.

I don't know, if your such a "Guapo Chino" you might have to worry about the female battalion of the FARC capturing you and abusing you in their prison.

All Extranejeros are Guapo in Colombia, even the old, fat ,ugly ones.

Rio Panse ids cool (spelling)aswellas Lago Colima.

Yep, Colombianitas are more interested in the inside than the outside, as they say in Colombia, “never judge a book by its cover”.

Cali is the most "unstable" of the cities you have been too.. still very much rough around the edges and with the economy the way it is and the unemployment very high in Cali you need good street smarts and to be vigilant. Even the once thought "high end" areas such as granada are subject to muggings these days because the crooks NO where the money is.. and la sexta has really really gone down hill and kinda reminds me of a strip in Tijuana these days... lol Do a search on Cali you will get some other opinions..

Since you have been to Bogota and Medellin, then yes you should go to Cali. If you were going for the first time to Colombia I would say skip Cali. If you have the time and dinero then why not go to Cartagena and Cali on this trip? Cartagena offers the tourist more but like Bill Turley says....if you wanna see tight clothing then maybe Cali is for you?

The north part in Cali (avenida 6th, west, north center) is dangerous in many places...but the south part(Jardin Plaza Center, Unicentro Commercial Center, Holguines Trade Center, Aventura Plaza Cañas Gordas, la 14 Valle del Lili- ) is different, undestanding that no one place is 100% secure. If you are looking just happy girls, please, don't come Cali. Please.

Hola!

I have been to Cali maybe 15 times!

Look, Cali is a big city and is not a tourist town!

! am there since I met my wife who is from there. I can not dance, but it is a Colombian city that is nice, but not FANTASTIC for a person just showing up out of the blue! Keep your money for other places you already know in Colombia! Honestly, with friends you return and I have been there 15 times or more with my wife and family. Go some place else,if your are playing tourist! Really, who cares if you find a Mall with 8 bars in the middle of it? Only people with a friend there already would like it, otherwise you might feel lonely!

Some people are dirty there! Well, that is just life! Live with it! I have seen worse in other places outside of Colombia! My wife lives within easy access to downtown and most of Cali via 1 bus! You don't care! You are a tourist! The good news is taxi drivers are honest and this comes from a former 5 yr taxi driver in Philly! I even found 1 guy that got lost out of the many I have used. I saId that he would only get the CORRECT rate to get to the Clinic with my bad Spanish! LOL!

I find Cali to be a family town! You meet a nice woman and meet her there. I never saw the tourist traps to keep me there! I liked the malls and being able to shop at Carrefour and HomeCenter. OK, I am the only Gringo there, but usully just Europeans show up there. Americans are WIMPS! LOL!

People think I am a GERMAN when they see me in their taxi, My wife has heard men speak GERMAN to my baby at the local health clinic. My point is that Americans that look WHITE are afraid of the place and you will like it, if you show up! I never chased after women there, but really the people there tend to be proper with their Spanish and they treat you good with customer service. My wife's family only has less than 10% that speak English, but I feel welcome even though I am an outsider, not being Colombian! You can laugh at my Spanish, but still people treat me nice as I attempt to speak Spanish! More than 5 or 6 of my wife's family are nice friends, even with my terrible Spanish! YES, SO SHOCKING WE ARE THAT GOOD AS FRIENDS WITH MY BAD SPANISH! LOL!

I am sorry, if my comments about Cali are true for most of all Colombia! When I visit Call, I have friends at the corner motorcycle repair shop, panderia, and local barber! Even when I visit places on my own without my wife, like at the local bar when I watch Deportivo Cali futball games with the guys there, people are welcoming and nice! One time, I stopped in at a local liqour store on Sunday and drank a few beers. Well, those guys seemed welcoming to me also!

I have not had any problems there in CaII, other than some people running restaurants poorl! One place substituted arepas for papas for the same price. I REFUSED IT and paid less for the meal! Another EXPENSIVE restaurant charged me 40,000 peso's for a pizza with CANNED mushrooms! I spoke to the manager and said back in the barrio we get FRESH mushrooms on our pizza. Well, we paid for the nice Chilean wine, but not for the inferior pizza! The place had clean white tablecloths too! Can you imagine???

I guess I should summarize and say that Cali is a relational place. Go there to make friends and not be a tourist! You will come back to Cali to be with your friends!

My wife's cousin showed up from Elizabeth, NJ next to Newark and he had not been back to Cali in 8 years! He considered Palmetto Mall was heaven! LOL, I was his tour guide to the mall! WOW! He bumped into a buddy from the USA in the food court as we walked past the coffee kiosk! Ok, I should say that both looked Colombian, but it was a shock anyway for him to see this guy from NJ down at Palmetto Mall!

Call me boring, but I tend to do basic family things in Cali. My son will be riding in the Carrefour shopping cart that looks like a car for our social activity! He also was dancing with me at Palmetto Mall during my last trip!

It is dark, but the sound is nice!

I don't know what your motivation for going to Colombia is....but if it is women.... you'll be well served to give Cali a long and hard look. The women here are beautiful and very easy to meet and date.

I don't know when you are planing on going to Cali but if you want to hang out with guys that know the city well then give me a call at 480-612-2264.
