SHOULD I BE WORRIED

Calfornia recieve my k-1 visa packet on july 28. i recieved the first letter a few days later. I havent heard anything else from them at all. I was wondering is this normal. Should I have gotten a second letter by now or not. Just dont want to let more time go by and find out that there is something wrong.

Don't worry, it's normal. You are in the middle of the pack of people who filed just before the rate hikes. Because of the rate increases, there was a HUGE volume of K1s, K3s, and adjustment of status's the month of July. Just hang tight. You should get your second (NOA2) anytime. It could be tomorrow, it could be 8 weeks from now. Just hang in there ... it will happen. Good luck. Rob

It's taking the CSC a lot longer to approve petitions now days. Before the fee increase it was taking them between 90-120 days, not it's more like 5 months.

From my NOA1 to NOA2, it took 80 days. That was exactly a year ago. Same service center. For the next half year or so, I would guess that the wait time might be doubled -just a guess. But I have read similar stories that support what Mononoke28 said. It could go quicker, but do yourself the mental favor, and do NOT look forward to getting a NOA2 tomorrow. Even if it goes as fast as "normal", you are still looking at a month. I would prepare for 2 or 3 more months. And it will be a nice surprise if it is quicker!

the currrent chart (moving averages) from visajourney.com says: about 127 to 140 days... at this point... THAT'S LOOKING BACKWARDS... not forward... the averages are a picture of what has happened most recently.... Looking forward could be more or less... MOST LIKELY.. A LIL MORE TIME.

yeah,....they will answer, but.... one amigo told me a few weeks ago, that he waited a solid hour on the computerized answering device, before finally being picked up by a real human being. man, that's enough to stifle my efforts....but, if you're really needing to know, then.... everyone gets to their own breaking point and .... call!!, like MaSep says.... I think the amigo I speak of, even lined up an interview with someone (he happens to live in Dallas, close the office in Mesquite, so... little problem for him)... and went THE NEXT WEEK and talked to them.

Whooaaahhhhh.... Now that was quick, for a change.
