Short term apartments in Bogota and weather questions

May be going to Bogota in October. Looking for an apartment for about two week stay in decent area, North or West part of the city. Anyone have any information about affordable apartments and websites I can check out?

Also, I read October is very rainy in Bogota. For those of you that have experience living in Bogota, what should I bring regarding clothes and accessories due to the weather this time of year? Do I need sweaters and warm coats or is a windbreaker good enough? What are the daily average highs in October? Thanks to all my friends here who always help me out.

Windbreaker and sweaters. Rain you can depend upon say 40 percent of the time. October is probably the rainiest, but most days have have sunshine-year around figure 45/46 nights-61/65 days.

Don't forget el paraguas, Mrs. Gator never does.

do you need the windbreaker and sweater at the same time? Or one or the other?

We stayed in these a few weeks ago. They are very standard, nice Northern Bogota apartments for a very reasonable rate. $90,000 a night for a one bedroom and $110,000 for the two bedroom. They are well located (Calle 116 and Cra 22) close to good eating options and relatively close to good shopping. It is about a block away from Autopista del Norte.

I use the windbreaker because it is easier to carry around after it warms up. ColombianoGringo's area also handy to the TransMilenio to get around town

Gator,

My family thinks I'm a freak because I never wear jackets or sweaters in Bogota. Honestly, I would wear shorts on most days if it wasn't for the fact that everyone would treat me like a mental patient for doing so. That's one of the reasons I like Tierra Caliente. You can wear whatever the hell you want and nobody so much as blinks.

The windbreaker is a PIA after about 11am until the sun starts down;
