Short cut to get interview in Bogota sooner

I have read that if you send the papers included in the packet to Bogota just after they recieve the approved K-1 this will speed things up but I cannot find those forms on visajourney.com Can anyone help me with what forms they are and were to find them?

Download them from here http://sansalvador.usembassy.gov/consular/english/visaim/forms.html
The forms are all the same and it doesn't matter if they are in Spanish or English or both. You must have your case # to do this otherwise its useless.
In our case, we were not in such a big hurry and took our time doing this. So, make sure you understand what's needed and do it correctly or you will be dealyed any way. And yes some others have used it to hasten the interview by about a month or two. Good Luck
P.S. The forms are the same even though these are from the San Salvador website - they have been used for filing in Bogota.

Do as you wish... But I would wait and use the forms that are sent to you. In my case the forms sent to me were no longer valid according to INS/BCIS/USCIS. However, i had been advise by an immigrations attorney that does much work in Latin America to use their forms.

I had down loaded the forms and the questions were about the same anyway. Colombia's embassy seems backward anyway. six weks to get a reply to an e-mail and a two hour window to call and speak about spousal visas every week.

Good Luck

Thanks for the help Is the case # one that Bogota gives you or is it the receipt # from the approved I-129? Also I read that there is a OF-169 form do you know anything about this?

The case number is assigned by the NVC and it will begin BOG2006...

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

I'm still waiting Normally, once you application has been approved by the NVC, Bogota should have it within a couple of weeks. Packet-3 should arrive at your colombiano/a's house about two weeks after that with the list of documents they need to collect before requesting the appointment. That said, my colombiana has been in the U.S. for almost nine months and we've been married for the past seven and she still hasn't received it.

So, obviously, receiving packet 3 isn't a requirement to getting a visa. Thanks to several other PBH contributors, we collected the necessary documents and made the appointment.

What IS important is packet 4. Without that, you aren't going anywhere. Among other things, it contains the appointment letter which is your ticket into the lab, the bank, and, most importantly, the embassy. Ironically, we got three of those.

For us, last summer, my fiance faxed in the two forms to the embassy in late May, she got an appointment for July-21, and arrived in the U.S. Aug. 5. We weren't exactly rushing things or we could have probably tightened up that schedule by a month or two.

Help....Form OF-169 I cannot find this form anywhere.....I have everything I need but this one form........can anyone help......OF-169

Gator says on May 21, 2006, 06:58:

Sure The OF-169 is a checklist of documents that must be brought to the interview.

For example, you might need:

Passport
Birth certificate
Divorce decree
Police certificate
Photograph
Evidence of support (use Form I-134 from the sponsor)
Military records
And what ever else is listed

You might visit the US Embassy web site and check but it is my understanding this form can vary depending on the applicant and the embassy. You may need to contact the embassy and advise the form was not sent. Try here;

The form OF169 is the new DS2001 As I recall the form number has changed to a DS2001 or something like that (the wording is the same but the number has changed.) So, you don't need OF169 instead use DS2001. Good Luck

Fax is sufficient We just faxed them in and everything worked out fine. Just make sure you have the case number on every page in case they get separated.

Paperas, sarampión, rubiola, polio, toxoides de tétano y difteria, tos ferina, influenza tipo B (HIB), hepatitis B, varicela, neumococo, e influenza.

Once you get everything We had read that it would take two months to get the interview after you send everything back in, but be prepared for it to be less as well. I was planning on an august interview, but it actually happened three weeks after we sent in the forms (not complaining, trust me) but be prepared for a quicker turnaround.
