Shoe size

I have a friend in colombia who wears a 38. I have been attempting to find the equal in the EEUU. What is the type of measurement that is used in Colombia for shoe size?

I would call a shoe store in Colombia and ask - you can find stores using paginasamarillas.com. When I bought my shoes in Colombia they all new how to convert US shoe sizes to Colombian sizes.

Size 42 Colombian is equivalent to a size 11 American. Just wanted to drop this bit of information. I went to Colombia and bought a pair of Bosi shoes and my American size is 11. After a few pairs tried on the Colombian 42 was the best fit for me. Hope this helps some. Thanks!
