Shipping Suggestions from Bogota to Cartagena and Manizales

I think Bogota is the best place to find quality office equipment and home furnishings. I plan on purchasing some office furniture (wooden desks, chairs, bookcases, walldividers, conference tables, etc) for my office and some modern furniture (living room, bedroom, kitchen, etc) for two apartments. i am trying to determine what is available in Bogota vs what i would ship in a cargo container from the US.....any information on availability and cost of Bogota items would be great. Also, any suggestions on the best and most reliable methods of then getting the newly purchased items to the cities of Cartagena and Manizales? ie. trucking companies, etc....

thanks in advance!

MC,
Try Jamar in Barranquilla. I got all the furniture for my Apartment there, it’s gigantic. Four buildings full of furniture and a vast selection. They have a small showroom in Cartagena but the prices are higher, for the same stuff. Shipping was a couple hundred dollars from BQ to Cart.

Shipping from Bogota to Cart. Is rather expensive, last time I checked prices on a full semi load (plastics) it was a million two (pesos) plus insurance. That was over a year ago, so I would imagine it’s even more now.
Good luck,
Patreick

miguel...i've shipped literally tons of cargo back and forth from cartagena and buenaventura.
take some sound, experienced advice. when it comes to furnishings. it's hard to beat what's made in colombia. wood, leather, chrome, etc. office, bedroom, kitchen, living room, sala, home in town or the finca.... i used to mfg furniture in colombia and know whereof i speak.

if you want a little free advise, buy your stuff in colombia...especially in antioquia. if you want to pay for advise...send me a check. jeje

seriously, unless you've antiques back home and want to hole on to them that's ok. but if you have run of the mill modern things, sell them and buy in colombia. if it's the other way around and you want it for a home in the u.s. you can't do better. it's like the furniture fair in milan. even better. if you need some help with the shipping i can guide you through all that.\

frank... didn't receive an e from you but i'm waiting....

yes, most of the finest production is out of antioquia. going back in time, antioquia is the heart of furniture production in colombia. i collected countless antiques there, restored them and sent them to our store in beverly hills. (melrose blvd) did very well with them. couldn't use the things the locals restored as their restoration work just wasn't up to snuff. we did it all ourselves. have many old and wonderful friends in the antique trade in medellin, llano grande, el retiro, etc. can't wait til i can finally really retire, get back home and resume the work of collecting and restoring antiques there.

havent heard back from you with your queries...? all ya gotta do is ask...free info at this desk.
