jajajajaaja chelesupercono....no..i'm not going to ride it... He gave me that for a comparison..as i'm wanting to buy and ship a car down from miami.....so i was just checking prices, etc.... Gator...I think that was just the taxes...and he does it all by air...so when he's been shipping for me...he takes it to MIA and then it's there that evening...then usually 2-10 days to get out of customs and they deliver to my door....not sure how long to get through with a car or motorcycle..

any other experiences???

Moto's are not bad, just need to be on the offensive, of course. I am used to the rural areas and Pereira only. many bikes you see do not have lights at night, or may be riding intoxicated, same goes for some drivers in autos. Better do your homework for importing a vehicle here (See postings), you will be killed with taxes and duties unless you are arriving for Gov't work, or a work sponsorship for a major corporation. Vehicles are 1.5 to 2 times more expensive here compared with other countries. If this new Pensionado bill get passed, may ease up on us all for importing vehicles. Am I wrong here PBH?

Lamptlr---On the Pensionnado Bill, depends if it truly is one like those already on the books as in Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama where you can import a Boat, motorcycle, Car/Truck on your initial move Tax (duty) free, hold it for 2 years, the repeat the processs.Lots of Exporters freight forwarders here in Miami, last time I Sold and Exported a Bike(bmw) was to Finland and a Large Honda Dealer I used in south miami took care of everything from the Paperwork to crating it up and delivering it to the port of Miami and Customs.The Buyer received it 6 weeks later no problem.

Instead of importing a car and going through all the red tape and paperwork and paying 35% tax on the new car plus a lot others duties, I would buy it locally, at least you get a warranty, show off less and it is easier to sell when time to go back.
