My wife and I are moving to Bucaramanga in March.
I had just bought a new Tank 150CC moped and want to take it with me.
Has anyone got any info on doing such a thing.
Thanks
John

TACTICAL says on Dec 10, 2005, 16:56: Buy one here By the time you ship it, pay the import tax, which will be AT LEAST 40% OF THE of the scooter (figure 800-1000 USD) and assuming they don;t steal any parts off of it, well you get the picture.

MedellinViking says on Dec 10, 2005, 17:11: DIAN will rape you! Tactical is so correct! Actually on my imports I even pay the import duty on the shipping costs on top of the duty on the goods themselves. Then a charge for the customs service and of course the IVA tax on that service and don't forget a fee to someone to prepare all the paperwork..... better off paying 5 million for a nice Yamaha BWS 100cc or a Top Bou 125cc or there are a number of asain import scooters that came onto the scene in 2005 for about 4 million pesos. Gator says on Dec 10, 2005, 17:38: Sell... and buy in Colombia. Viking's prices are about right, saw the Yamaha BWS in Bogotá for $5.100.000 pesos. "Credidi pretio parvo emere et magno vendere tibi in animo fuisse!" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Tinto (Moderator) (Trustee board) says on Dec 12, 2005, 10:06: Maybe the key thing is that the vehicle is new? Ronald used "(new)" above and in another post I think he talked about importing an antique car but it was just a shell (non-functioning), to be used in a restaurant, I think.
