I have a question about the K1 visa. My fiance is pregnant, and I am worried that it will affect the fiance visa application negatively. Does anyone know if it will affect the application at all? Thanks for your help!

In a perfect world I would hope that the situation would put a little more urgency in the process.....but I'm not holding my breath that her application will move any quicker. I will write a letter attesting to the fact that the baby is indeed mine, and then just hope that the process moves swiftly. Thanks again.

Robert Jorge says on Jan 30, 2008, 19:12: I don't know how far you are into the K1, but the pregnancy will have no affect on it. If she has the baby before the interview, that will require some more paperwork. Details - I don't know. But if your concern is that she will be pregnant during the interview, don't sweat it. Robert Jorge says on Jan 30, 2008, 19:15: And marrying her will not improve your chances of her getting a visa or getting her to the US quicker. As a matter of fact, if you marry her, you will have to start over with a K3 visa. I respect your good intentions, but on this one, keep a steady ship and continue / go through with the K1 that you have started. Good luck. BEWARE of gold diggers. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Gator says on Jan 31, 2008, 16:40: Robert Jorge is correct-You might have to file an affidavit accepting paternity. If the baby is born in Colombia you will have to file and amended petition requesting a K-2 visa "Credidi pretio parvo emere et magno vendere tibi in animo fuisse!" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
