SHAMEFUL! - Congressman Ciro Ramirez MUST BE REMOVED from Colombian Congress!!!

SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!
A group of Colombian congressmen led by Ciro Ramirez are now calling Colombians into VIOLENCE, and to RIOT in the streets if the Supreme Court rules against URIBE's reelection. Ramirez also believes that Colombians must dismiss the ruling of the profoundly democratic body, if this is unfavorable to Uribe.

Ramirez must IMMEDIATELY be EXPELLED and permanently REMOVED from congress!! It seems that he is not aware of the fundamental principles of a working DEMOCRACY in which the three branches of government are of equal standing and precedence, and profoundly INDEPENDENT from one another.

Advocating for such travesty is against the Constitution, the basic democratic process, the rule of law and international treaties. This congressman is turning Colombia's democratic tradition INTO the passing, bad-tasting JOKE of the Americas and the world. His little sophistication and senile irrationality could not be more detrimental to a country that is ravaged in conflict.

If what Ciro Ramirez was to be implemented (just like what happened in Germany with the Third Reich and Hitler), that would be the first step into consolidating the URIBE MESIANIC dictatorship.

It's APPALLING how URIBE's right-wing, supporters in and out congress are really showing their TRUE COLORS, their ARCHAIC irrational mindset and lack of political sophistication.

How do Colombians expect that congressmen like these are to uphold and honor the LEY Y ORDEN mandate as in written in the Colombian coat of arms?

Congressmen Ramirez makes me feel ASHAMED of being COLOMBIAN.

AFUERA esos mal-llamados senadores del Congreso!!

but in the US... basically the same thing happened with George Bush when his buddies on the Supreme Court installed him, despite his losing the election. So, it happens the world over.

I agree with the principle of your statement, which in esence is the respect for all the branches of government. Unfortunatelly you are the first to disrespect the figure of the President by calling him a Mesianic dictator and the figure of the Congress by calling them all "so-called" senators. So as maybe many of the people in government may not be of my liking as it seems they are not of yours either, your thread is no better in attacking the reelection that Mr Ramirez in defending it. Democratic principles begin with respect of which you are no better than others.

POSTERS' FLAWED LOGIC It's disturbing to observe how profoundly flawed it's the logic and rationality of some of the PBHers on this site. If they cann't possibly attack the argument and veracity of an initial thread, they resort to direct personal attacks which only evidence their lack of exquisite rational sophistication.
If the initial posting is read, digested and understood properly, there was a hypothetical statement equating the possible, unconstitutionally-forced ascendance of Uribe to a second term to the consolidation or the Third Reich and Hitler in Germany. All this is historically-based, therefore to call Uribe a Mesianic dictator in the event that this scenario materializes, it's undoubtedly accurate.
Regarding the "so-called" senator, the moment a senator is sworn-in, (s)he swears to abide, respect and foster all the fundamental principles of a democratic republic, including its constitution, its institutions such as the Supreme Court, and/or international laws. The minute that a congressperson steps over that boundary, (s)he can not be called and does not DESERVE to be a senator any LONGER, since (s)he has INFRINGED and broken all vows made to the people, the republic and democracy of a nation.
This topic is NOT a matter of my opinion OVER the opinion of others, instead this thread is about FACTUAL, LOGICAL and IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE.
I would encourage people in general to be more of critical, independant thinkers.
