Is a barrio in north London. It hosts the renowned Colombian Market, which I finally got round to visiting for the first time last week. Amazing- the sights, sounds, smells, tastes- it was like wandering into downtown Cali. I had chicharron, salad, rice, frijoles, an egg, and a juice for only £5! Great stuff. My wife had her hair done at the peluqueria while I had a beer in the Colombian pub (and a chance to leer at the young Colombianitas-in-exile without La Kalder elbowing me in the throat). Then off to buy a stack of Colombian DVDs. A cheap and very cheerful way to spend a wet afternoon in London. Highly recommended.

kalder says on Apr 17, 2008, 06:05: The old question of how many Colombians in London? "kalder- have you ever had a woman?"--Sam Salmon |
|
kalder says on Apr 17, 2008, 06:11: Elmo's a cheeky scamp. But it'd be interesting to know how many UK Colombians would prefer to live in the States. If you eliminated the 'grass is always greener' element, it'd be intriguing to see what imagined benefits they'd see in moving over there. Well, Kat's supplied one- easier travel back home. But if you asked me, if you took NYC as an example, I imagine life there and life in London would be pretty much the same. I expect the Miami thing would appeal to the party crowd. kat1 (Moderator) says on Apr 17, 2008, 06:36: Kalder that's the only thing i will go and live in Miami and the weather... but if i could have this in the UK i won't be bother with the USA at all :)) engage brain before opening mouth |

Cerealkiller says on Apr 18, 2008, 12:06: summers in london can be very hot. People usually go to parks for picnics, go shopping, wear very skimpy outfits...party more. I love London summers. Only thing is London is not used to these new type of summers and its often difficult to find a/c'ed places. SiV says on Apr 18, 2008, 15:06: As for chicharron in Seven Sisters, can you not find deep-fried pif fat all over Britain, chopped up in small bits? It's called pork scratchings. Stultórum númere infinitum est. |
