Sent in AOS, what happens next and how long, ect ect

Hi, wife had K3 Visa and is here now. Just sent in all paper work for AOS. We did not pay extra for work permit or that she can travel back to Colombia, we want to save money and wait for everything to complete.
How long does this process take.
Will she then be able to work and travel back and forth to Colombia?
We want to travel back to Colombia this December and hopefully she can work this September, do you recommend we file for the extra forms?
She wants to go to college, what forms will she need for this. People are always asking for a SS number, and we don't have one yet.

Love to hear peoples advice and experience.
Thank you

Hi, I sent the papers to Chicago. She came here on a K3 visa. How could I know for 100% if she can leave the country and come back with her K3 visa. Maybe call imigration?

Another question. How soon can I start the process of applying for a visa for her parents to come to the United States to visit or to live. Does my wife need to be here for so many days. Thanks for all.

wind... You were given you answer to your first question by King in his post.

You are a looooong way from an immigrant visa for her parents. You can apply for a visitor visa anytime...just don't have high expectations.

You will never... get a one hundred percent guarantee with anything to do with immigrations. Here is a direct quote from my wifes I-512L (Advance Parole).

"Parole is not Admission into the United States...If you have concerns about admissibility you should contact an immigration attorney or an immigration assistance organization accredited by BIA before making foreign travel plans".

All that being said, unless your wife has some issue that immigrations missed on her original application or gets into some problem while overseas she SHOULD have no problems.

BTW I am not BIA certified.
