sending package/suitcase FROM Colombia to NYC

Yup, I tried searching the site but nothing. Anyone have any ideas? I'll be going to Bogotá soon and would maybe like to send a suitcase or two before I travel. I don't care if it takes a long time to arrive

My suggestion is to find a person who is going to travel , offer to pay them to bring the suitcase, rather than shipping it.

Try a freight forwarder or consoladator .....or one of the cargo airlines. Should'nt cost any more than the extra bag charge, on commercial airlines.

I would imagine that Servientrega would work at a reasonable price.

Thanks, I am kicking myself for not have sent a bag or two with my parents, anyone going to the states from Armenia????? I'll try the freight people, I think Servientrega would be expensive but I'll give it a shot.

Try Avianca- Deprisa. Heard it's OK. 1-800-591-7040. I'm trying to get a box of stuff sent to me from Cali. Let me know how Servientrega go's. Email Buongone at yahoo.com. Thanks

Checked with UPS. For a 50# suitcase to come from Cali to Anchorage, Alaska. It's $287.75. Not cheap. Cheaper than what I paid in January. With the Mexicana blackout. Gotta be someone out there that is cheaper.

I shipped 5 boxes from LA to Medellin using Avianca (Deprisa). They were shipped 1 week before I left. I arrived at the airport in Medellin and they had not heard of them. Over a month and a half later they finally arrived and I was charged for storage time even though they did not call to say they had arrived.

Don't know about normal baggage. AHHHHH finally got that off my chest.
