On the off chance that any lurkers out there may have some experience with
this...
How difficult would it be to sell some Krugerrands (or any other major gold
bullion) in Colombia? By "difficult" I suppose I mean would the price not
be robbery. Here in the USA you could sell them for just a wee bit below
the spot price of gold. Is this the case in Colombia as well?

Mr. Hollywood says on Jun 14, 2005, 14:01: Sounds tricky No direct experience but the anti-money laundering laws here are VERY strict and I can't imagine that they make it easy to sell gold bullion.

I doubt you will make much money At any rate this is the sort of thing you can make contact about from here. Phone calls are cheap. "cook some rice!" 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

yacosta says on Jun 18, 2005, 07:14: Depends in what city you are in I collect coins and banknotes and i find it easy to sell coins and banknotes in Colombia depending on the city you’re in. Larger cities like Bogotá, Medellin and Cali have various shops willing to buy coins and banknotes. How much you can get depends on your negotiating skills. Good luck Yezid Acosta http://www.notofilia.com 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

ColombiaBoard says on Jun 18, 2005, 07:47: Numismatica Don´t go to a jewelry store, they´ll offer you only the gold price according to the coin´s weight. You have to find the collectors who know the real value of the coin.
