Do not use expedia they will never give you the best rates!!! Use cheaptickets.com or kayak.com then once you see the airlines that are flying to your particular destination check the airlines website and you MIGHT save a few more bucks and you will sometimes find more availability of flights

They claim to charge half fare for children but will mark the adult rates up to compensate. I have called the airlines and "upon inquiry" always get a better rate on a childs seat.

I think it really sucks, in general, how airfare has gone up from a year/year and a half ago....My wife and I were still living the "two country" existence, and traveled back and forth alot.. Seemed like the going fare, out of Houston and LAX, was between $500-$700, depending travel dates.....Now $1000 on a decent carrier is good!

It's funny how you can find good fares on carriers like TACA or Mexicana Air, but after they gross up the fares, to cover taxes exchange rate, (and I am sure the gringo tax), the fares end up being close to the same....
