Seeking info on areas to the east of Tayrona

So I´ve heard good things about the area up the coast. Casagrande is an option for a visit. I´ve also heard of Mehndicuaca and a place called Cinta. Most of the directions I´ve seen have been kinda tough to follow. Anyone know these spots or know of where I may be able to read up a bit more?

Many thanks.

What would you like to know about Casagrande and Mendihuaca?
Cinta... don't know what it is. Cinto is the name of the bay next to Neguangue in Tayrona. Beautiful and the very first place I have seen in Colombia.

for a day, Rio Burritaca is nice. Just outside of town there is a nice park called Valencia, just of the hiway. Take a bus to the park in the morning (from Santa Marta) and go to Rio Burritaca in the afternoon. It's a very small beach town and is beautiful, natural and pleasant.

Chris, to explain it better, going from Santa Marta:

Mendihuaca is the resort on the beach, five kilometers after the main entrance to Parque Tayrona (El Zaino or Canaveral), just on the Troncal del Caribe on the left side.

Casagrande is a camping, bungalows place, right next to Mendihuaca.

Tayrona country club, is three kilometers further, taking a small road through the big banana plantation on the left. You can rent apartments there. The place looks a bit out of shape.

Guachaca is the village one kilometer further. Restaurants, bars, supermarket.

Puerto Nuevo is right next to Guachaca, on the beach where Rio Guachaca meets the sea. You can sleep there (rooms for rent).

Buritaca is the village on Rio (river) Buritaca on the main road, Troncal del Caribe. Restaurants, bars, supermarket.

Cabana de Buritaca is the name of the "caserio" (small village) on the beach where Rio Buritaca gets into the sea. Just take the small road on the left at the entrance of Buritaca. You'll find cheap hotels, bars and restaurants there.

Quebrada Valencia is the name of the famous waterfall near Buritaca. 20 minutes walking from the Troncal del Caribe, just after Buritaca, on the right. You may be asked to pay a small fee by the keeper.

Robi,

Many thanks this really helps understand the layout of things! We really appreciate it. Do you know if at Casagrande they rent tents? And how much are the bungalows?

Sooooo, senoir Robi, the only thing left is if you would just sell me that 6´7 board you own!!!!!!! Just kidding I know how it goes. We´ll maybe half kidding and half serious....

Thanks again to all.
